Staff Profiles
Peter Chowla, Coordinator Peter Chowla, Coordinator Peter coordinates the work of the project. For the previous three years, Peter has been programme manager for the IMF and finance at the Project, and for three years prior to that was the Project's policy and advocacy officer. His past experience includes working with the Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment to research both local and international pollution issues. He has also worked as a journalist in South Korea and managed a student environmental justice activist network in the United States. Peter holds a Masters in Development Management from the London School of Economics, as well as degrees in Engineering and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business. Petra Kjell, Programme Manager, Environment, Human Rights and Social ImpactsPetra coordinates the work on environment, human rights and social impacts. Petra has extensive policy and advocacy experience in UK organisations, such as Progressio and the new economics foundation (nef), as well as a strong track record of advocacy and publications on climate change. Petra has also worked in Tanzania coordinating the country office of NGO Frontier. She holds a Masters in development studies from SOAS at the University of London, and a Bachelors in social sciences from the University of Stockholm, in Sweden.
Sargon Nissan, Programme Manager, IMF and FinanceSargon coordinates the work on the IMF and the financial system. Sargon has extensive policy and advocacy experience with organisations such as the new economics foundation (nef), Jubilee Debt Campaign, CAFOD and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, on projects focusing on the sustainability of markets and financial systems. He also worked in the field for the United Nations Development Programme in Syria and spent four years working in the financial sector in the City of London. He holds two Masters degrees from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London (Finance and Development, Development Studies), and a Bachelors in Economics from the London School of Economics. Clare Woodford, Communications and Research Officer Clare coordinates the communications work of the Bretton Woods Project. She has extensive communications, project management, policy and advocacy experience for UK health NGOs, including Carers UK, and the NHS Confederation. She has also worked in capacity building in northern Nigeria. She holds a Masters from the University of Manchester (International Development).
